Farmajo meets security chiefs after car bombs in Mogadishu

Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has held a special meeting with the country’s security chiefs at his office in Villa Somalia on Friday night.

The talks focused on the current security situation of the country and the latest stand-off the parliament last Wednesday, where members of the army staged violence which disrupted the house session.

Sources told Radio Shabelle that President Farmajo has urged the commanders of the Military, Police, Intelligence and custodial corps to avoid recurring of such incidents.

Farmajo also asked the chiefs of the security agencies to tighten security and work hard to prevent Al Shabaab from continuing its attacks in the country.

The meeting came amid political deadlock in the country’s parliament which emerged last month after MPs estimated more than 100 tabled an impeachment motion against the speaker.
