Loud Car bomb explosion reported in Somali Capital

A car bomb was reported to have rocked Somalia’s capital Mogadishu on Wednesday evening, the latest in series of attacks in the seaside city over the past couple of months.

The explosion which has resulted from an explosives device fitted into a vehicle, took place at Benadir intersection in Mogadishu, and caused no casualties, according to witnesses.

No group has claimed responsibility for the car bomb blast, which was aimed to assassinate former custodial corps official. He has narrowly survived from the assassination attempt.

Somali security forces sealed off the scene near the bomb site, and launched a manhunt for the suspects. Police say the believed Al shabaab was responsible for the explosion.
