Gov’t asked to bring former NISA chief before court

Somali government has been urged to bring former head of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) Gen Abdullahi Gaafow Mohamud before court for shielding his driver who killed a public servant.

The driver has shot dead Mursal Omar, who was a an employee of Somalia’s high court in Mogadishu last week, and escaped to Gafow to escape from arrest and the justice, according the victim’s relatives.

Speaking to Radio Shabelle, Hussein Mohamed Hassan Dhiqle, one of the Relatives of late Mursal Omar, who was a an employee of Somalia’s high court have called on government leaders to serve the justice.

Dhiqle accused ex NISA boss for trying to defending the killer from the justice.

The relatives of the slain citizen took to the streets in Mogadishu, demanding justice from the government and arrest of Gafow’s driver who killed their loved one, late Mursal Omar.

Meanwhile, Ali Ahmed Ciyoow (also known as Ali Hiiraan), a senior NISA officer, blamed General Gaafow for embezzling two Million of US dollar during his tenure as NISA head.

He pointed out the NISA soldiers lacked their  salaries for 9 months under the leadership of Gen Gaafow.

The officer has called on the Federal Government to bring Gaafow before court for fraud.
