Somali PM attends Prayers for Rain in Mogadishu

The new Prime Minister of Somalia Hassan Ali Kheyre has attended prayers for rain held at a mosque in Mogadishu on Tuesday morning.

A large number of people, including senior officials, religious leaders, students and among others partook the prayers to seek rains from Allah to end the ongoing drought Somalia.

Somali PM has urged people to help their brothers and sisters effected by the drought.

Lack of rain in the country for three consecutive years has led to drop of water level in rivers and a biting drought which is on the brink on famine.

Aid agencies are warning a famine in Somalia, and appealing for urgent humanitarian assistance to save 6.2 million Somalia from dying hunger, starvation and lack of water.
