Puntland parliament urged to file motion against Gaas
Puntland state parliament has been urged to table a motion of no confidence against president Abdiwali Mohamed Ali Gaas who is accused of incompetence over handling the insecurity in Puntland and Galkayo conflict.
“The president of Puntland has failed to serve for the people and deal with the security lapse, including the wave of killings in Bosaso city,” said Suldan Afgadud while speaking to Radio Shabelle over phone.
Suldan Afgadud added that president Abdiweli Gaas has been absent from office for nearly five months as the region faces increasing attacks by Al shabaab and drought that left scores of people dead.
Al shabaab carried out assassinations in Bosaso, the commercial hub of Puntland last December, killing 3 officials among them director for presidency and deputy police chief.
