Somalia: Big rally in Afgoye in protest of roadblocks
Hundreds of people took to the streets in Afgoye town to protest against illegal roadblocks set up by gunmen dressed in Somali military, according to local residents.
The protesters who were carrying out banners with anti-roadblocks slogans have called on Somali government to remove the illegal checkpoints from Mogadishu-Afgoye highway.
Somali government has not commented on the rally and the increasing roadblocks erected between Mogadishu and Afgoye town in Lower Shabelle region.
Afgoye has been hit by deadly Al shabaab attacks in recent months, as militants are trying to topple the current federal government backed by UN and international community.
