Somalia: NLF increased the Upper House seats
Somali leaders at the National leadership forum (NLF) in Mogadishu have on Sunday increased the number of the upper house chamber seats ranging from 54 to 72 seats.
According to a joint a communique, the NLF leaders have agreed to expand the upper house seats by adding 18 additional seats after weeks of heated talks in Mogadishu, Somali capital.
The NLF allocated 3 more seats to each federal member state as following;
Somaliland 14 seats,
Puntland 14 seats
Galmudug 11 seats,
Hirshabelle 11 seats,
KGalbeed 11 seats,
Jubbaland 11 seats.
Despite this agreement, Somali leaders and the international community in still in deadlock over the recent decision by the electoral disputes body who nullified 11 parliamentary seats.
The international community called Somali leaders to support the decisions of electoral implementation bodies to nullify election results for seats that have been rigged through misconduct.
