Electoral disputes body meets with UN Envoy
Michael Keating, the United Nations Special envoy for Somalia has held a closed-door meeting in Mogadishu, to discuss the nullified parliamentary seats.
The meeting took place in UNSOM office in Mogadishu, with reports that both sides focused on the annulment of 11 parliamentary seats over vote-rigging.
The electoral disputes body is reportedly sticking on its decision of nullification of the 11 MPs who were elected in corruption, electoral fraud and intimidation.
The decision by the electoral disputes body sparked alarming concerns from the federal member states who resisted the cancel out of the 11 parliamentary seats.
The emerging dispute on the nullified 111 parliamentary seats has led the postponement of the new parliament which was expected to take place on Thursday in Mogadishu.
