Galmudug electoral body accused of electoral fraud
The chief of Wacaysle sub-clan Mohamed Abdi Shido has blamed the regional-level electoral commission of Galmudug for corruption of their lower house seat in Adado elections.
Speaking at a press conference in Adado, Suldan Shido who is among the 135 Somalia elders elected the electoral college said his clan’s seat was corrupted by Galmudug electoral body.
The elder has stressed that most of the Somali clans are complaining about the alleged fraud, intimidation and vote rigging in the ongoing lower house elections underway across the country.
“A candidate who doesn’t represent out clan was elected as federal MP in Adado lower house election,” said the Suldan of Wacaysle clan while speaking at the press confrence.
The ongoing lower house election in the country is said to be a corrupt polls and the international community has voiced concern over the reported electoral fraud.
