Somali info minister retains his Lower House seat
The outgoing minister for information of Somalia Mohamed Abdi Hayir Maraye has retained his seat of the lower house chamber after election in Mogadishu on Saturday.
The minister has been announced the winner of today’s election for the lower house seats of the Somali clans hailing from the self-declared Somaliland.
According to the electoral result, the minister of information Mohamed Abdi Hayir Maraye got elected after beating his rival candidate with 51 majority votes.
He won the 7th seat of the 46 seats allocated for the people in the northern regions whose election for lower election is underway in Mogadishu city.
