Al Shabaab carries separate attacks in Somalia and Kenya
The Al Qaeda-inspired Al Shabaab militants claimed they have carried out separate gun and bomb attacks in Somalia and Kenya, killing at least five Kenyan soldiers.
In a new statement posted on the Internet late Wednesday, Al shabaab said a remote-controlled land mine near El Wak town has destroyed KDF vehicle with military supply.
At least five Kenyan soldiers were killed in a roadside bomb struck a convoy travelling between Garissa town and Galmagalo area in northeast of Kenya on Wednesday morning.
Al-Shabab said the attacks on Kenyan forces serving with African Union mission in Somalia (AMISOM) were “a retribution” against the Kenyan invasion in the horn of Africa country.
Al shabaab intensified its cross-border attacks in northeastern province of Kenya, as the militants being ejected from major ground in Somalia by AMISOM and Somali troops.
