Somalia: ICRC delegation reaches Bardere town
A delegation from International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has on Wednesday landed in the southern town of Bardere in Gedo region, reports said.
The ICRC delegation, which is made up of foreign and local staffers are in Bardere to assess the humanitarian situation in the town near Kenyan border.
ICRC is mulling to re-start its humanitarian operations to help the needy people in the city after 12 years of absence due to insecurity and Al Shabaab presence.
In July, 2015, Al-Shabaab lost the key Bardere stronghold after 7 years control to Somali and African Union troops (AMISOM) following military offensive.
