UPDATED: Al-Shabaab attack Hulugho in Garissa
Militant group al-Shabaab has reportedly attacked Hulugho town, Garissa county and taken several people hostage.
According to reports, the militants are said to have launched a second attack on the town on Tuesday, November 22.
On Monday, November 21, the group had carried out a minor attack on the town, which is near the Kenya-Somalia border.
During the attack, the terrorists destroyed a Safaricom communication mast.
Unconfirmed reports claimed that; the militants had taken hostage, workers stationed to guard the Safaricom mast.
Some of the militants are said to have also raided the local mosque and preached to the residents before escaping.
KCSE examinations at the local school had to be stopped after the attack. No deaths or injuries were reported after the chilling raid.
