US accuses state minister for presidency of electoral fraud

United States to Somalia Ambassador Stephen Schwartz has sent an official letter to Galmudug president Abdikarim Hussein Guled, addressing fraud, bribery and intimidations on electoral process.

The ambassador said US has understood that the minister for presidency Mahad Mohamed Salad has replaced the names of the legitimate delegates on the Cayr list with his employees and security guards.

Mr Schwartz said in the latter to Galmudug president Abdikarim Hussein Guled that Mahad Mohamed Salad won the seat of lower house through corruption and intimidation on his clan delegates list.

According to the latter by the Unites States of America Mahad Mohamed Salad has denied a female candidate Ayan Dahir Canshur against him to the election hall in Adado during his election day.

On the other hand, US said it is concerned by the absence of Ahlu Sunna Waljama from the upper and lower house elections in Adado city, Galmudug state’s interim capital.

US expressed fear that the isolation of Ahlu Sunna Waljama could create post-election flash-point, destabilization in the region which is already fractured by violence, Al Shabaab attacks and clan wars.
