UN envoy pays a visit to Bosaso, Puntland State
United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Somalia Michael Keating had arrived Monday in the coastal city of Bosaso, northeast of Somalia.
Mr Keating is accompanied by senior UN officials on his trip to Bosaso town, and is reportedly having a meeting with Puntland president Abdiweli Mohamed Ali.
Reports said the UN envoy’s visit to Bosaso is to discuss Puntland leader on the renewed conflict in Galkayo city in central Somalia and the forthcoming election.
United Nations envoy for Somalia Michael Keating is likely to hold round talks with Puntland and Galmudug officials, to seek a lasting solution for the escalating fighting in Galkayo town.
