Four AU soldiers among 10 killed in base camp bombing
At least 10, including four Djibouti-an peacekeepers were killed and dozens wounded in a huge car bomb attack in Beledweyne town, the regional capital of Hiiraan province on Tuesday.
Al shabaab has claimed killing of 17 Djibouti-an soldiers who are serving with African Union mission in Somalia (AMISOM) when a bomber in explosives-laden truck rammed into AU army base in Beledweyne.
Dozens of civilians who are nearby the AMISOM base during the car bomb attack are among the dead and wounded, according to local police and witness who spoke to Radio Shabelle over the phone.
AU mission in Somalia did not comment on the truck bomb attack on Djibouti-an peacekeepers base camp at the west of Beledweyne, some 350Km north of Mogadishu, Somali capital.
The attack was the deadliest on Djibouti troops in Somalia who are helping Somali government in fight against Al Shabaab militants in Hiiraan region.
