Galmudug forces recapture Godinlabe from Ahlu Sunna
Galmudug forces have regain control of Godinlabe in Somalia’s central region of Galgadud from Ahlu Sunna fighters, who seized the area early on Wednesday.
Heavily armed forces backed by tanks and armored vehicles took part a counter-offensive which led to the liberation of Godinlabe, a small village located between Dhusa-mareb and Adado towns.
Reports said Galmudug president Abdikarim Hussein Guled, was leading today’s military operation against Ahlu Sunna fighters in Godinlabe area.
The situation of the area is reported tense and gunfire could be heard in the city’s outskirts as there was fears of counter-attack by Ahlu Sunna militiamen.
