Galmudug readies troops to secure 2016 election
Galmudug state in central Somalia said it has prepared 500 police forces for securing the upcoming 2016 election which is scheduled to take place on Oct 30.
Galmudug president Abdikarim Hussein Guled who addressed newly trained police officers said his administration’s forces will take security responsibility of the election in Adado city.
Somalia’s upcoming election will be held in the capitals of the regional administrations in the country who will have their own forces to secure the electoral process.
African Union forces in Somalia (AMISOM) who are made up of 22,000 UN-mandated soldiers will help the country’s national and regional army to protect the elections.
