IGAD dismisses dispute over Jowhar meeting
The IGAD special envoy for Mogadishu Jamal Hajji Aden has denied reports by local media that a disagreement has emerged over the state formation process at Jowhar conference.
Speaking in an interview with Radio Shabelle, Mr Aden said IGAD has no any difference with Somali interior ministry on the inter-regional state formation meeting in Jowher city.
“The report is false and baseless propaganda circulated by the enemy of the Jowhar conference. IGAD and the Somali interior ministry are not in deadlock over the process,” said IGAD envoy.
He said IGAD and Somali government has successfully overcome several challenges in the first phase of Jowhar conference and now entered the second phase which is expected to form the inter-regional state for Hiiraan and middle Shabelle region.
