Ten killed as Somalia troops clash with Al Shabaab

BIADOA, Somalia — Ten people, mostly combatants have been killed and dozen others wounded in deadly fighting between forces loyal to Somalia’s South-West State and Al Shabaab militants, sources said.
The battle erupted after heavily armed troops from SW State launched an attack on bases held by Al Shabaab fighters in Idale area in south of Somalia, sources told Shabelle Media.
The regional forces captured the area from the Al Qaeda linked Somali armed group.
Several civilian people among 10 killed in the skirmish, a resident said on condition of anonymity.
Some regional military officials said that the troops would launch fresh attacks, in a bid to seize further territories under control of Al Shabaab.
Tension mounts high Idale area where troops from South-West State have captured from Al Shabaab militants.
The militants still control large rural areas in south of the country.
