At least one soldier died and two others sustained wounds in an infighting between two groups within Somali National Army (SNA) in Mogadishu on Wednesday.

Wednesday’s in-flight broke out after the rival sides in SNA clashed in the outskirts of Mogadishu’s Dharkenley district, according to eyewitnesses.

Local sources say, police officers and SNA troops quarreled on the demolition of disputed slums; subsequently triggering a gun battle that left one dead.

Local officials are working to stop the gunfight and intervene in the warring sides. The Wednesday’s combat has raged on for several hours, reports said.
