Somali MP slams ‘mass murder’ by Ethiopian troops

A famous Somali lawmaker Dahir Amin Jesow has condemned massacre of unarmed civilians by the Ethiopian troops serving under AU Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) in Bay region.

Speaking to Radio Shabelle, Jesow said Somali parliament shocked and disgusted by the mass murder of the Quran teachers in Wardile area, 37Km west of Baidoa city by AMISOM troops.

The parliamentarian has called on AMISOM to launch authentic investigation into the civilian death, and prosecute the Ethiopian soldiers who committed the ‘mass murder’ against civilians.

“I urge AMISOM and Somali forces to minimize civilian casualties in their military operations against Al Shabaab fighters in the country,” said Mr Jesow during the interview.

The MP’s call comes two days after Ethiopian troops of AMISOM contingent attacked Wardile, a small locality near Baidoa town of Baay region, and executed 14 Muslim clerics at a house.
