ISWA denies alleged killing of civilians by AU forces

The internal minister of South west interim administration [ISWA] Abdirahman Ibrahim Aden has denied alleged killing of 14 civilians at Wardinle village by Ethiopian troops of AMISOM contingent.

The regional minister said the civilians lost their lives in the shoot-out between Al Shabaab and Ethiopian forces serving under AMISOM after attack in Wardinle area, 37Km west of Baidoa.

“The AMISOM forces have targeted Al Shabaab in Wardinle area, they did not target civilians, we know that the people were killed in the gunfire exchanged by both sides,” Aden added.

On Sunday, the local residents of Wardinle vicinity, told Radio Shabelle that Ethiopian troops from the AU Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) involved in the execution-Style manslaughter.

The mass murder has left 14 Muslim clerics dead, while many others wounded after the Ethiopian troops have indiscriminately opened fire on a civilian house in Wardinle area.
