Xenophobic attacks in South Africa leave 6 Somalis dead

 

At least six Somali nationals were killed, several others wounded in the ongoing Xenophobic attacks and brutality in South Africa.

According to eyewitness account, armed gangs carried out several deadly attacks on shopping malls belonging to Somali business community in Cape Town, killing six.

The dead included Abdullah Mohamud, a Somali businessman who was allegedly killed in his mall by a gang armed with riffle guns who usually attack foreign-owned shops.

Late Mohamud has been murdered in Masako, a small village near Cape Town, authorities said on Saturday. The attackers are reportedly escaped the scene of the killing shortly.

Somalis are among the foreigners in South Africa who are facing the worst outbreak of xenophobic violence in years as local gang attacks their shops and loot properties.
